Rakia (rakiya) is a traditional alcoholic beverage widely popular in Bulgaria and throughout the Balkans. If there was a national drink of Bulgaria, rakia would surely come in first place, as it holds a special place in the country's cultural and social life.
Governor Gavin Newsom is intensifying California’s approach to homelessness by urging cities and counties to adopt policies banning long-term homeless encampments on public property. This initiative follows a 2024 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that granted municipalities broader authority to enforce such bans, even in the absence of available shelter space. To support these efforts, Newsom has introduced a model ordinance that includes guidelines such as limiting outdoor sleeping to no more than three consecutive days and ensuring public walkways remain unobstructed. Additionally, the state is offering $3.3 billion in funding for housing and mental health services to cities that choose to comply with these policies. While the state cannot mandate these bans, Newsom is leveraging substantial funding to encourage cooperation. The initiative aims to address the state’s homelessness crisis, which affects over 180,000 individuals

Bill Gates didn’t care about balance in his 20s. He cared about building something that would last. From the time he was 20 until he turned 31, his focus was to build the best software, faster than anyone else.
He didn’t take vacations. He didn’t chase hobbies. He stayed in the office for days at a time, sleeping under his desk, running on adrenaline and excitement.
He wasn’t trying to prove anything to anyone—he just knew the window to create something big wouldn’t stay open forever.
Everything in his life pointed to that one mission. He worked long hours. He avoided distractions. He gave all his energy to the thing he believed in. That kind of focus isn’t easy—but for him, it was worth it.
You don’t have to live that way forever. But in your early days, when you’re building something from scratch, that level of intensity can set you apart.

Over the past five years, global solar power capacity has experienced an unprecedented surge, effectively doubling its installed base. From 2018 to 2023, solar capacity grew by 188%, outpacing wind energy’s 80% increase during the same period . This rapid expansion is attributed to a combination of technological advancements, significant cost reductions, and supportive policy frameworks. The cost of solar panels has fallen by approximately 20% every time global capacity has doubled, making solar energy more accessible and economically viable .
