Roy Lee (@im_roy_lee), born Chungin Lee in 2003, is a 21-year-old Korean-American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of Cluely (@trycluely), an AI startup launched in early 2025. Known for his unconventional path, Lee made headlines for his bold and controversial ventures in the tech world.
While attending Columbia University, Lee was suspended after developing Interview Coder, a tool designed to give users an unfair advantage during technical interviews. Following the suspension, he and fellow dropout Neel Shanmugam decided to go all in on building Cluely a real-time, undetectable AI assistant for use during interviews, exams, and sales calls.
Cluely quickly gained traction, raising $20.3 million in funding, including a $15 million round led by Andreessen Horowitz. By mid-2025, the startup had reached $6 million in annual recurring revenue. Its rapid growth and the “cheat on everything” reputation of the product have sparked intense ethical debate in the tech and academic communities.
Japan Airlines is currently offering free domestic flights to international travelers who book an international round‑trip flight to Japan and add at least one domestic connection on the same reservation through their website. Will you take advantage of this?
