NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang expressed amazement at Elon Musk’s xAI team for constructing a supercomputing cluster with 100,000 GPUs in just 19 days. The speed and scale of the project left Huang “stunned,” given the immense logistical and technical challenges involved.
To put this into perspective, Huang noted that a typical data center project of this magnitude would usually take around four years to complete. The majority of that time about three years is spent in the planning and design phase.
The remaining year would then be devoted to shipping the hardware, installing it, and ensuring all systems are fully operational. The fact that Musk’s team accomplished all of this in less than three weeks is, according to Huang, virtually unprecedented in the industry.
Chinese phone company Honor has just unveiled the world’s thinnest smartphone, pushing the limits of engineering and design. Measuring just 4.7 millimeters thick, this ultra-slim device packs powerful performance into a body slimmer than most credit cards. To achieve this feat, Honor had to rethink nearly every component, developing custom batteries, ultra-compact camera modules, and advanced heat-dissipation systems.
